I'm excited about that too, but it won't happen until next year. I will probably move Maximus, the Legbars and my Marans hens over to our old chicken pen for a while, so he is the only boy they can breed with! I need to find out how long the hens need to be separated from the other roosters, so I don't wind up with an oops baby...

It would be fun to hatch some eggs to try and get some NN hens from him, of course there's always the possibility of getting more roosters if you do that!

I am strongly leaning towards rehoming him... I would rather not hatch as I don’t want to chance anymore roosters... while I find hen and her chicks Oh So Precious.. I hate the part where mother turns on them!

There are definitely downsides to hatching!
I can totally understand rehoming him, you need to be able to enjoy your flock & they need you too!

Maybe wear protective clothing thick pants and boots and a coat and gloves and go in there and either it will help you realize your fear is unfounded or it will confirm that he needs a new home or a bachelor pad or some other solution. I feel so bad for you, being afraid to interact is just no fun at all.

Not sure how long I’d last wearing all that... it’s already pretty hot here..but that would be a good idea! I am surprised at how afraid of him that I am though... but I am a huge ninny when it comes to possible injury!
I think it’s making me realize that I don’t like sharing my flock... I had thought about another ‘con’..... it seems that all the gals that were here before TRUMP are very social with me... but his two sisters that grew up with him and the Brady Bunch that came after him have nothing to do with me! So maybe that’ll change if he’s gone...
