Our Mixed Flock Journey!

I like the quick kill method. I don't like any animal suffering,, even a rat.
I ran thru all the different ideas out there. One used Plaster of Paris instead of baking soda.
To me that is suffering. And other rats see it,, and will not touch that food. They are smarter than we think.
I had to check. I think we have Plaster of Paris. I'm going to try and use that. Thank you for giving me an alternative.

The girls are really starting to lay some very nice eggs.
I'm not sure who is laying the large blue/green eggs, but she's been very consistent.

It's such a beautiful day... let's cut down some trees! 😁

Well, I wound up being the equipment operator today. Didn't bounce him off once...lol

After cutting branches he tied ropes to the tops. That will help control the direction they fall. Easiest time we've ever had getting a rope on. Dale has always used a bow and arrow with fishing line attached to the arrow. Then tied to a rope and pulled up and through a loop. Works really well, but a little more time consuming. All of the summers as a kid spent carp hunting, paid off...lol💞

The trees look a little different.

I will be glad when they're down.

You have had quite the day! When the trees come down, you yell "timber" (that's about all I know about lumberjacking)? :D
