Lost another hen today. My gray Easter Egger. Saw the hawk fly out of the trees when I went out to check on them this afternoon.

We're going to string some thin rope and hope that will deter it.

I've been thinking, I might have to lock them into the enclosed pen for awhile. Hopefully we won't need to do that.

I've always heard when a predator finds an easy meal, they'll keep hanging around for more. Maybe if they were in their run for a while, the hawk will move on.

Yeah, that's the direction I'm leaning. We always have hawks here, never had them keep coming in like this though.
