Lost another hen today. My gray Easter Egger. Saw the hawk fly out of the trees when I went out to check on them this afternoon.
We're going to string some thin rope and hope that will deter it.

I've been thinking, I might have to lock them into the enclosed pen for awhile. Hopefully we won't need to do that.
Yeah, that's the direction I'm leaning. We always have hawks here, never had them keep coming in like this though.I've always heard when a predator finds an easy meal, they'll keep hanging around for more. Maybe if they were in their run for a while, the hawk will move on.
