linoleum for sure. Keeps moisture off of subfloor and that will help keep the smell down.

I use short roun logs to hold my waterers and feeders. It works great! They are probably 6" or 7" high.Hint: Try to find a diameter of log that is the same diameter of your feeders so they won't be tempted to jump on the edge(which would defeat the purpose.)
I have 22 hens and it's been my experience that your nesting boxes might be too high. I have found the nesting boxes should be around 12" off the ground. I don't think the roosting pole needs to be any higher.
I'm wondering if you'll need to istall a couple more vents.

The only way to know for sure is using it a little. If it's too hot and smelly just pop a couple more in and your cool...

check out our coop and look at the feeders....I can tell your going to have some happy chicks!! jeff https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=36513

Thanx for the great tips!...We have plenty of lil logs to hold those up!...

I think the boxes are about 13-14", hopefully not too tall...

Still looking for a linoleum scrap...

There are 2 of those white vents you see on the side plus the front and rear soffits won't be covered to create ventilation from all 4 sides...The front and rear are 8' long by 1-1.5" wide which would be a small door if all put together LOL...Do you think may be sufficient or did I now go overboard?...

Cool!...For them I mean LOL

Today it's near 90 and the coop is 82 and comfy...We also designed the A-frame run with lattice to offer full-time shade and they use it!...

BUT, I have to say, I miss the heck out of them...I work from home and they've always been less than 2' away from me, I think "I" am suffering from separation anxiety!

Very nice!!! Chicken TV. I agree with the other posts. My birds were sleeping in the nest boxes. I would put milk crates in the nest boxes in the evenings and take them out in the mornings for a week. It seems to have worked. I did it with my hens and with my pullets.. Also I put a golf ball in each nest box. I would also make sure the roosts are higher than the nest boxes. The birds tend to go to the highest spot to roost. My original roosts were at the same height as the nest boxes. I have raised it to just above the boxes. It's no fun when they get used to sleeping in the nest boxes and then you reach in and get poopy eggs. This happened to me in the beginning. I thought it was cute. I finally got tired of cleaning the poopy eggs and the poop out of the nest boxes..

Awesome job! I love the big window. That a-frame looks fantastic too. I never thought of using lattice on top like that. Does it have wire under the lattice? Also, could you put up a picture of the a-frame's door? That's where I always have trouble. I'd love to see how you guys did it.

Thanks for sharing!
