Very nice coop and I like the bigger size. Are the base boards 2x6's? Also wondering if you could share a photo of the inside. Thanks again for sharing your coop pic.

jprs, In those last pics, I just had the pvc pipe in place in order for time to mold it/bend it so it will be easier to place when the time came. You are right, the cap board has the holes drilled right into it, and I put a small strip on top of that to hold down the wire. Here's a closer look at the 2x6 top board:I thought you drilled the holes in the peak board as well, and slipped it into place, but on your last pics, it's not in place. Did you just notch it then put that furring strip across the top?

I'm not sure if this was directed at me, and I don't want to Hijack the thread. If it is- those are 2x6s and I plan on taking some more pics of the completed coop, which I'll post on another thread as soon as I do.
No problem - you didn't hijack the thread! I appreciate all the info you can give! That is a great coop with all the modifications you've got there! I think it has an awesome look too! I didn't go with the metal roof because the Florida sun is so brutal and I didn't want to fry my chickens. Do you find it getting hot in your hen house section or is there something to insulate that from happening? Also, I used 2x8s on the bottom box frame. The top board is a 2x6. About the wheels: I used 5/8" bolts for the wheels but not carriage bolts because i needed to make sure they tightened snugly and I have found carriage bolts to slip and lost the grip on the wood ( on the head). Also, I had o find bolts that where threaded for the entire length of the bolt and not just the last quarter of it. This is because i had to tighten the board and bolt snugly without tightening the bolt to tightly that caps on the wheel. I'll post some pics of the wheel mechanism later. Bah it would help if I read your original post more carefully! Very nice job! Post more pictures!I actually got the plans. ..... The roof is insulated. I didn't like the idea of a bare metal roof radiating heat in the summer, but I liked the idea of a galvanized roof for ease of installation and longevity.
