Our turkeys are always hungry

We only have one turkey but lots of chickens. When we got the turkey he "gobbled" down his food but he wasn't use to eating daily. Now he gets 24/7 grain and the dish lasts for days. At 2:00 pm or (any time you choose) I bring all animals dinner. They get canned whole kernal corn/tomato/keilbasa/a chopped green. I make enough for a week package it up and that is their extra treat, plus what they get in the yards, grass/bugs. They all come running for this treat though like they haven't eaten in months. I think its just the excitement of something new. Good luck do what works to make everyone happy and that includes you, it sounds like everyone is doing fine. Oh yeah my roo gets pasta everynight (that too I make ahead and freeze).

Wow sounds like they are spoilt rotten by you lol

I am naughty actually because it is horrible weather here in France today and have not been out since this morning, so best drag my bottom off this chair and go and see if they are ok. No doubt they are because bad weather, brings goodies from the earth and my husband throws greeny to them when he is cutting down things.

Yep they get pasta as well - just nothing to do with meat.

Invest in a feeder. ( a nice one that holds about 30 pounds ( or about 15 kilos )
feeding them small amounts three times a day is triggering them into " vacuum mode "
Once they are used to eating out of a feeder that holds enough to last them all day long( feed them in the evening so they goto bed with a full crop and stay on the roost longer it'll help them live longer ) they will get bored with the feeder and you will notice the feed consumption will drop considerably while they still maintain their weight and growing spurts.
you can adjust the amount you put in it till you get it right. and make sure they are not just making a mess around the feeder. make them clean it up.
