MJ's little flock

No problem. Sand is grit for chicks, it helps to digest, like grit for chickens.
I've been giving them access to a box of that clean sand for two separate hours a day. They start by eating it and finish by dust bathing in it, all piled in together.

I thought I might share Dad's notes on his family. Of course I find it fascinating, but perhaps you might like to read it too.

Names you know from the flock that are not in dad's notes are from mum's side (Peggy, Ivy, Edie, Katie, Dora).

I found my own Dad’s attempt at that. He didn’t get nearly as far!

I'm so grateful. He wrote another page of anecdotes, which also a fab read.

Lorna and Joyce were Alma's daughters. I don't have all of dad's cousins. I'm sure I can look them up in the births, deaths & marriages register.

Wish me luck. I've paid for the chicks and will fetch them tomorrow.

I had pre-ordered a cream legbar. There were none on the list, so I assume they didn't hatch. I chose a Marbar instead.

Wish me luck? Wish luck to the chicks.
I didn't realise you had chicks too. 🧡 🧡 🧡 They seem to be doing well. So happy for you! Congratulations!
