yesterday was a beautiful day so i was outside "playing".i had my chickens ,ducks, and guineas outside free ranging and i heard a strange noise so i go to investigate.this was on top of the barn.
he came down and ate with my girls but wouldn't let me get too close.he looked like he has been looking for someone for awhile.his feathers were ragged and when he "strutted" you can see that his feather veins were broken and stripped.he stayed most of the day but was obviously looking for something else.he could have stayed awhile but he flew almost to the top of our pine tree which is about 80ft.
he is not out here today.nice ,pretty surprise tho.
i know all of my close neighbors and they don't have any.
could he have been looking for a mate or really lost?
if he comes back should i try to catch him(??? treats??) or just leave him be?i do not want him but could help him find a better home.
can anyone tell me what variety he was?
you can see his feather veins and how they are broken and stripped.
he looks like a porcupine in this one.
