Hi Everyone!

I'm the guy from Lake Odessa, Michigan, that makes Garden Outhouses starting around $85.00 I can make bigger outhouses for chicken coops. I just joined your BackYardChickens Forum and don't know how to post pictures of my work. Can you help tell me how to post pictures? Or email me and I'll be glad to send you some pictures of things I make. Ok, I just posted some pictures. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks!

Hello Alan, So glad you joined up! If you look up above on the tool bar you will see "uploads" You can choose 'browse" and it should go to your pictures files on your computor. Then upload them. Use the resize option if you need to. From there you can paste the 'image" code into your message. It sounds worse than it is. You can also cut and paste codes from any pictures you have on Photo Bucket.

I haven't checked yet, but make sure you post something under 'new members' ... people check those regularly to see new members. Your outhouses look so neat, I am sure people will want to see them!

Alan, welcome to BYC. You'll have to check out the Michigan thread. The nice thing about this site is if you have a question or problem someone will get back to you quickly with an answer. Again glad to meet you.

On the idea about having "two floors" in the coop to increase size of the coop. I did this, somewhat in my coop on the second floor of my barn. It turned out that my "second floor" turned into being the dropping board for my roost. When they are awake, out and about, they are all on the first floor. My coop is 4x5 with a 2x4' plywood board under the roost. There is also a 8" wide x 3' long "catwalk" over to the waterer on the 2nd level.

The gals do hang out on the second floor some during the day. I think it helps with giving them a place to get away from each other.

(HMM, does this mean I can legitimately call my coop 4x5=20 sq ft PLUS 2x4=8 sq ft ... does that mean I can get MORE chickens?! Seriously, I couldn't imagine 3 additional birds in there. Maybe one more, or two bantams.)
