OUTRAGEOUS WORK RULES

Too funny, but realistic! Sad....

I had strep throat the 1st July that I was here and it hurt really bad to talk. I was required to call in every day that I was out, even after my DH took them a note from the MD saying "no talking, it is too painful". Now I just come to work sick and hope I give it to my supv who is "by the book".

At my old job, you had to be checked by the company nurse if you needed to go home sick. I told my boss I was sick, he said, "Well go to the company nurse and get checked, but I'm sure it's nothing" as pieces of infected lung tissue exploded out of my chest (not really, but it was a close thing). This was in the middle of last year's flu scare. The company nurse, upon hearing my cough and checking my temperature, freaked out completely and sent me home with a note to my boss that I was not to return until my doc had certified that I didn't have Swine Flu or SARS or whatever.

My new boss, upon observing me sniffle quietly over the bottle of Dayquil on my desk, told me, "Hey, you should take care of yourself--you can go home if you're sick, I won't take it out of your personal time or anything." I (heart) my new job.

When the door flew open, it wouldn't be my face the camera would be looking at! We have a poster on the wall at work that reads.........Everyone brings joy to this place, some when they enter, some when they leave!
