IMO, OSB particle board is wood waste with glue holding it together, solid wood or a 5 -7 ply plywood would be better and it also depends on the project. But glue/wood pressed together holds very little heat or humidity.
High injection molds or a 1/8" oak ply molded to styrofoam adds to much money for what some would debate an insulation disadvantage/advantage...Let me ask you...Why doesn't a Log Home using only a 6" wall need insulation? Because wood is an excellent insulator...
