Over 21 days, no pips, alot of thin red veins

My incubator is similar in that it is designed to be used with an upside down bottle.

I've found that when I use the bottle as the incubator is designed it is waaaaay too wet inside. They keep a continuous level of water in the reservoir giving you no control over the humidity. I've removed my bottle holders and taped the tube up. I'm incubating dry this time around and if I need to add water I'll add a tiny bit through the tube, definitely not as much as an upside down bottle would.

I hear you that your incubator doesn't have a way of measuring humidity--neither does mine, but that's actually pretty crucial! It's generally advised to buy your own separate thermometer and hydrometer to put inside to check temperature and moisture levels. Otherwise you just don't have much control.

It’s been well over 21 days so I had to check if any of my 4 eggs were dead.

I broke the bottom of the egg to see white dry membrane and then gently wet it with coconut oil. It has clear red veins since yesterday here is an updated picture. (she moves so definitely alive) currently in incubator with 3 other unpipped eggs.

Update - chick isn’t moving anymore no foul smell. Small blood spots have appeared as u can see within a vein. New yellow line through the membrane?

When they are hatching the veins will start to disappear. Look closely to make sure it isn't just sleeping.

Yeah I watched the chick for hours before I gave it a closer look but still no movement at all so I hope she’s just been asleep for a while. If it’s dead wouldn’t it put the other eggs at risk of contamination? How do I know for sure she’s not just sleeping?
