Okay it has happened ALL of my chickens are laying -- I am collecting anywhere from 6 to 13 eggs per day. I have given so many away but feel I could be doing something different. And, I really don't think I am finding all of them. I have 8 brown layers and 7 white layers. I collect only one white egg a day the rest are brown (i have two broody white layers). And is it possible that some of the hens could be laying two eggs per day.

What is your egg management program?

give me some ideas.

thanks

Man you have problems ,are you sure you haven't got more brown layers? Try to figure out a way to split what you think are white layer from brown .and see if you get eggs.

I have been fearing this very issue my self. I am still waiting for eggs, but what to do with them all?

Well here are a few suggestions I have found over the last year.

Lots of egg salad!
We make a quick dish about twice a week of chicken flavored rice 3 eggs and Chinese noodles. it's a quick 5 minute meal!
A friend started putting eggs on the corner in there neighborhood with a sign that said, If your hungry eat. If you love fresh eggs take some. If you would like to see more eggs in the future, make a donation. He placed a little cigar box next to the eggs on a little wooden table and to our surprise, many leave a donation. Helps with feed and stuff. And those who are in need don't have to steal...

for use in cooking applications you can beat all the eggs and then freeze them in ice cube trays. Then remove them and put the cubes in a zip lock bag.
Two cubes equals an egg. You can store them for a long time this way. You can also feed other animals the eggs. (cooked of course)

I hope that gets you started, there are hundreds of ways to use eggs, you just need to find what fits your family.

We eat eggs for dinner at least once a week. (with french toast or pancakes) The kids think it's cool to have breakfast for dinner. I sell some and give some away to family.

I am sure any local Soup Kitchens or Shelters would love to have any eggs you might like to give them

Not necessarily. Some will not accept eggs from locals.

Feed them back to the birds. I scramble 3 dozen at a time when I'm overrun. Make a 10 egg pound cake.

Recipes my dh makes a mEan pavlova (marange) you can use the whites and cook up the yoke And feed it back to them.
Also older eggs you can make deviled eggs for parties. I don't know how old an egg has to be before its easily peeled

It's weird, I swear that once my brown layers started laying it was like all of a sudden my game hens started laying brown eggs too. I am sure it's not possible, but it seems that way.

Also isn't the ear color the color the eggs will be?

I don't think ear color has anything to do with egg color. I could be wrong, but...otherwise I'd have a lot of red eggs
