Overdue silkies

We have silkie/bantam eggs we ordered online, sitting under our broody hen. I candled them on day 26 and thought I saw slight movement. It's day 28 and nothing has hatched. What could this mean? Judging by what I've researched, they should've hatched a week ago.

Unfortunately they have probably died A week late is very late, and under a broody they usually always hatch on time if they're going to hatch.

Thank you. That makes me so sad. I hope there was nothing I should've done differently. In the future, is there something I can do if the chicks are not hatching on their own on time?

Shipped eggs are a real challenge...try getting some eggs closer to you if you can. The odds are much better.
