Overly enthusiastic teenaged rooster; injuring chickens

He will find a nice pullet to snuggle with.

I have a cockerel like this right now. Is it possible to put him in another cage until he grows out of it? Some grow out of it in less than a year, it depends on the bird. Wait till his hormones settle down then put him back with the pullets.
If that’s not possible then you’ll need to get rid of him.

Does he have any older hens to boss him around?

I have 10 older hens and got 12 chicks 1 is a rooster they are about 6-7 weeks old is havejng the older hens around going to be good for him and put him in his place. I want him because we free range and I think it will be good to have him as a protector for them. So I don’t want to have to get rid of him

Yes, the older hens should boss him around, & teach him manners.

Older hens are almost always "peace-keepers" when it comes to new cockerels.
