I have two hens who look a wreck.... Ruby & Whitney have got some issues. The pics will explain. They are other wise healthy and happy but I think they are being over mated? What can I do to fix this? They are in a flock of about 20 other hens. I do have two roosters but the one is still a cockerel and I haven’t seen him mate any. Walker (rooster) and Fancy pants (cockerel) don’t fight ever. So I never really thought of getting rid of either till now. They seem to be the favorites because the other hens are puffy fluffy and fat! Suggestions?

Have you heard of hen saddles
They are clothes that stretch around the back and have bands that go under the wing they give the hen a break for over mating

How long are the spurs on your rooster? Could that be doing most of the damage to their backs?
I get these may be favorites but either your rooster is a clumsy oaf, his spurs are too long or he is too randy for his own good. Two of these three possibilities would get him re-homed if he were mine. The third can be addressed.
