overnight cat got in brooder

Mine would so do that too! She loves heat lamps. always sits on the lizard cage or rooms in with the tortoises.
But I do think some cheeping or running would have set mine off for sure even if the initial intent might have been heat lamp sun bathing...

Glad nobody got hurt!

Holy cow! You're so lucky the cat just snuggled!!

A few years ago my cat got into our brooder box with guineas in it.. He killed all four of them and left them there for me to find in the morning! "somehow" the door to that room wasn't shut all the way and the cat got in.

OMG -- I bet you almost died when you saw her in there at first LOL!!! We have an inside cat too and I keep the chickies in the hall bathroom in their brooder. I'm so paranoid that someone is going to leave the door open and let the cat sneek in to where the chicks are....

i have 2 cats that are sisters and fixed. one goes outside as she pleases and is always laying birds, moles and mice to the back door, i guess as gifts or showing off. the cat that got in the brooder will not go outside at all, but does watch the bird feeder twitching with excitement so i am very surprised she didn't eat em.

Sounds like kitty was just trying to get a suntan.

You know how cats like warm places. Maybe you should reward her for not killing the chicks by setting her up a heat lamp of her very own.
