So I’ve thought of that, cordless motion lights that are super bright! ...but those might be super sensitive and a moving tree branch might set it off every 5 seconds. That would drive me and my birds crazy
Where could I find something like that?
I have never had an owl chew. They don't have teeth so I wouldn't know how they could do it. I put my netting up in sections and originally put the sections with cable ties. The cable ties eventually deteriorated. I replaced the ties with hog rings. Problem solved. My pens totally cover around 200' x 60'. the owl that killed my birds went right through some netting. I didn't have enough of the original netting to completely cover all of the pens so I bought some online that turned out to be crappy. I put it up anyway thinking it would deter any aerial predators. Wrong. I have since replaced it with some good netting.We have a resident owl. We are looking at ways of covering a run. It's an irregular shape, about 20 x 30 with 6' high, wire walls. I have been theorizing that a bird of prey would not fly into a spot that it would have trouble flying out of. Many of the previous posts, however, describe their owl chewing through nylon netting to get in. But how do they then get out? Do they climb back up the spot they came in? It sounds to me like nothing short of a wire ceiling or solid roof will keep them out. Feeling a little discouraged
