well i agree for my chickens, but for my barn cat and kittens, little piglets that keep dissapearing which i forgot to mention that is another one of my pets that is dissapearing during the night, dogs that wont take a dump on a leash so i have to let him roam by himself or hell crap in my bed n only weighs 5lbs and cost 600 dollas. honestly, my chickens price wise are worth the least, so as far as the secure coop, for my chickens i agree.

Ah... didn't know about the other animals, that changes things, makes things very difficult.

I guess

would be something I'd have to consider.

First, its illegal to shoot it. Second, 'no offence big time animal lover' I would so cry if you did I belive their endangered.

There is a great horned owl here every morning before dawn hooting around looking for a chance to carry another one of my animals off.25 of my neighbors chickens were massacred yesterday ,by what i believe to be coons. There are alot of "endangered" animals here in ohio, ive found chickens to be on the top of that list around my house.

I always wondered about that.

LOL i just made that part up. I'm not sure how the Hatfield vs. McCoy conflict arose, but it was probably something along those lines.

Put a wire mesh roof panel on the pen.....if not in a pen.....well, they are just a drive-thru dinner for wildlife.
We have owls and hawks here, and I take no chances. I would lose my mind if they got one of my babies......I sometimes worry about my small poodle, but the fatter she gets the better I feel.

If the ducks went missing with NO sign it probably WAS NOT an owl. A bird of prey will leave feathers scattered about and more often a partially eaten carcass. No sign left is more likely a fox or other canine. My ducks dissapeared the same way. Not even a feather left behind.

i always find a clump of feathers or a trail of feathers. no feathers i would suspect a humanoid or gator.
