Do you have the oxytetracyline that says it has 10 grams? If so, the 800 mg dose is 5 teaspoons per gallon.

I think the dose you would want is 1.25 to 1.5 teaspoons per quart. What are you trying to treat?

Edited to fix typo.

I just used the last of the packet this morning.... Its the one TSC sells for &6.99 or so...yah just checked It says 10 grams.
Had finished off the prev package bought over a year ago......ran out .. didnt get to TSC for two days and restarted it...
Hubby saw one of them "shoot out " poo other day when he was out doing stuff. Ive seen it myself. Esp Baby Girl...It is so SAD AND FRUSTRATING....
It must be so terrible to be a chicken and have to go thru all of this.
I dont want to give them anything such. but nothing is helping Tried "Rooster Booster" but its expired. It was prob expired or close to when I bought it from a small place over a year or so ago. We were in a hurry and forgot to check for a date.... It was when we took BG to a vet (nice guy)over 40 plus miles awy.. back roads too......but no vet really wants to deal with chickens
Money is in cats, dogs, and major cattle, etc.
what a pain to get to around here, in these small communties.......
I wont drive those back road myself....and poor Hubby is all chickened out. both of us really.
We PRAY, yes pray and wish... pray to get out of this mess( chickens, this property) so we can enjoy the rest of our lives
Plus they(flock) just throw out the "pellet"of the Rooster booster....

This is the package I have. I am trying to treat to very young pullets, under a pound each. I have been spoon feeding and giving drops of electrolytes. Is there anyway to make less then a quart? The girls are isolated. I think someone asked before, is there a dose for just making a cup? Can I mix this with the soupy food I'm giving too? I just want to get a good amount in them, ASAP. What's the best way? Thank you in advance!

That's the really concentrated stuff, as in ~3/4 teaspoon = 800 mg, so to make a cup you would need to have a way to measure a tiny amount of powder. Do you have a gram scale?

Also, I'm leaving for vacation in one week is it ok to treat the whole flock, preventatively, with a lower dose (400mg) before I go?

Thank you, Kathy!! Yes, I have a gram scale.

Excellent! You any good at math? Don't worry if you aren't, I'll try to figure out how much you need (math is not easy for me, but I can plug my way through it.).
