what do you use to give oyster shells? I am at a loss they always seem to know them over! I am going to use a big heavy stone trough tommarow for it.

someone told me that they offer shell and grit in tuna fish cans screwed to the wall in the coop...I am going to come up with something like it but use coffee cans(small plastic ones cut down to 1/2 size) that I can remove easily to clean...good luck

Here's the ones I made from PVC. One is for grit, the other for oyster shell. Easy, cheap and fast!

Thanks guys all those Ideas are great If I find any PVC I will do that but next visit to the feed store I might buy another wall feeder.

Mudhen, how did you make the holes. I mean with what did you cut them?

Are those 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 inch pipes?

Thanks,
Ellie

I just sliced them out with a hack saw.
Though I only just made them last fall, I unfortunately suffer from CRS, so I'll have to go out there with a tape measure tomorrow to check the sizes.

(CRS = can't remember s&!t)

That is OKay, salt is bad for you(so the doctors say) I prefer to use Lawreys Seasoning SALT, gives everything a little extra flavour.
