I mix O. Shell with their food. I also, throw grit out in their run so they have it if they want it. My girls get let out in the yard when I get home from work till bedtime and almost all day on the weekends when I'm home. We have 1/2 acre fenced in.
In the winter I will mix the grit with their food or in their scratch because they don't like the snow. They will only go out into the run if the snow is melted.....spoiled.
