Oyster shells

I don't feed my ducks layer feed. My little ducks eat Purina Duck Pellets and my big ducks eat Southern States Floating Waterfowl feed. All of the ducks have oyster Shells and crushed eggshells available on the side. Before I started offering oyster shell or eggshell to my Calls, one of them started laying. Of course I have this available now, but I thought the extra calcium source was to support strong eggshells and if a calcium source isn't provided, calcium will be used from their bones. Of course I may be wrong and I am eager and willing to learn 💜
Sounds like you are doing a great job!

I think check the label. Nowadays, it should be oyster shells, not oyster and sea shells. I’m trying to get answers as to why many oyster farmers in the U.S have had permits revoked, as mentioned by preferred vendor.

My quackers don’t share the love. I am just the person who gives them food and water and let’s then out to noodle in the yard
Same here. There's no doubt that I love them more. They tolerate me 😂 Especially whenever I fish for minnows out of the pond for them or dig up earthworms with them. They pretend I'm their best friend then, but only then 😂

I need to get updated pics, but for now, I'll share what's on my phone.
First is my "Bigs" from L to R: Reggie (Pekin Drake), Tom (Buff Duck), Honey Boo Boo (Pekin) and Stormy (Cayuga Drake)

Just a few of my quackers 💜 All of the bantam ducks are young. The Bigs are 2 years + 3 months. I need to get current pics of all of the bantams. I hate that I'm missing pics of some of them

Oyster shells, clam shells and coral are all just calcium carbonate right? What is the difference? Genuinely curious
From the vendor’ email to me:
We did testing on the clam and coral mixes that are out there. Chickens and ducks cannot absorb any calcium from them, they are very hard and just pass through their system.
