Oyster shells

I wonder how they get it so white? Oyster and clam shell has a lot of color to it. The thing about these minerals and the shells is that they can be dissolved in acid and then the calcium re-precipitated.
 
Sorry, I'm thinking of the bright white little rocks in a one or two pound bag. I'll have to look it up what it's called.

For a while I played around with avian calcium supplement. It's a very fine white powder that will stick to any crumble or pellet
 
I'm on a quest for good oyster shells and the Scratch and Peck site is out, but they direct to this limestone calcium product. Does anyone have experience with this? Do ducks like it? https://www.scratchandpeck.com/shop/cluckin-good-limestone/
Yes, I’m trying it. Ducks don’t seem to like it.
