If they are veins in the center, just slower, they aren't all the same. If it is a ring around the perimeter, it's what is called the death ring, and they are dead.
In my opinion, and I'm not super experienced, if in doubt, I put them back in, generally only discard those with the ring around the perimeter at this stage.
