Packing Peanut question

Ok I'm sorry but I'm confused, so a "peanut" is a baby roo?

Yes.

Hatcheries send roosters they couldn't otherwise sell along with regular shipments to provide body heat. They are called "Packing Peanuts" and they are "free". (There's usually a charge for small shipments (<25) so they aren't really free).

I did get a pullet (Leghorn) with my peanuts on my last order from Ideal. Kind of like a bonus!

So if I ordered chicks from Ideal and didn't get 25 chicks they will send me peanuts to make up the difference? Can you request to NOT get the peanuts added?

I got two EE pullet packing peanuts in my Ideal order last November. But they were mistakenly sexed as males.

I just ordered some baby ducks. I didn't want the "peanuts" initially until I spoke with them over the phone. Without the "peanuts" they would not guarantee.
