I have had bad pain in my left shoulder and neck for 2 weeks now. I have seen 4 doctors. One was a family doctor, two were ER doctors and today i saw an Ortho doc. For pain i was prescribed Motrin. Mortin didn't help at all. I have been nauseated, and my blood pressure is way up because of the pain. All of my Dad's siblings, and my Dad all died of heart disease. Having untreated HTN for 2 weeks is a concern for me. Also, i only got a few days worth of pain pills from one ER doctor. So i have pretty much been suffering nonstop for two weeks.
The Ortho doc ordered more xrays but no MRI. I have numbness in my left thumb. I was diagnosed with "a pinched nerve". An rx for a steroid pack was supposed to be called in. Of course, it was not there when i went to pick it up hours later. So i am still in pain and nauseated. Oh yes, and he ordered physical therapy.
My point is, why can't a patient who is in excruciating pain get a reasonable supply of pain pills? I know there are people that are addicted and misuse or sell their Rxs. Why should i suffer because of those people?
Lets talk about pain.

I get shoulder/neck pain, numbness etc from using computer too much. Holding laptop on my lap and looking down seems to be a no no....
For what it's worth, here are some simple positions you can do now that may help put your neck back in alignment, you do each one for 3 minutes. You may feel relief or it may take doing it more than one day. Sometimes just the 2nd one helps me--if you can't tell by the pic, you hang your heels off the edge of a stair. It sends chills up my spine when I do it.
they are from a book called Pain Free by Pete Egoscue. I have done my best to sketch them.

Thank you.

And now i can't find my BP cuff, but i feel like my Bp is up. pounding headache, nausea , and i can feel my pulse without touching my arm. Its weird. Took an extra half dose of BP meds and had some ice cream. I wonder if a bath might help. I am going to try it.

I am wishing you healing. :love I too have been having heart symptoms, high bp, frequent palpitations. A couple days ago I called the clinic and was told to go to ER but they found nothing wrong w me.
