oc = means Off Color

If you don't mind my asking, what shows did your splash win? I don't remember hearing ( reading in the poultry press) about any silkies taking a Super Grand at any shows, which is Very rare since there is a lot of judges who do not like to place silkies on champion row.

central maine bird fanciers fall 2011 show and northen new england bird fanciers fall show 2011.
sorry I don't have a link for that show.

How many other silkies was it competing against?

Why in the world would you ever tell a new breeder or any breeder at all to do this?
Please where are the NON internet breeders? Ones that know it is highly important to keep pens pure? The old school breeders. Im mean the non milling out birds for profit or the I need to have it because its hot breeders? LOL, some people will believe anything they hear.
Another plane going down in flames. Just like those poor self blues.

Since neither Robin nor I sell anywhere near as many birds as you, I find this to be a rather bizarre comment. And for someone who appears to be denegrating project birds, you sure have a lot of them going.

How about not bashing someone on her auction if you are not interested? Hoppy has been quite aboveboard on the background of her birds.

i do not know what breed my paints are from but i just wanted to say i just bought so cute babies they are bein shipped to me and i hope to have them tomorrow. i also purchased a white and black hen to work with them. i got them from a very nice breeder on here that has been very kind to help explain things to me. i also talked to another very nice paint breeder that has me on a list. i am very excited to have these birds. i dont think i will ever breed them for selling but wanted them to loook at for my grankids and hopefully get some nice show birds for 4-h for them except i know it would be tough to show the paints cause they would be AOV's. So i think the black hen is gonna be nice to show i hope for them. and then maybe get another one later on for my other grand baby to show too.

well sorry to go on and on i just so excigted i wanted to share with someone

I never bashed someone on an auction. I just commented on anothers comment of breeding partridge to paint being wrong.

Awesome Bella! It's refreshing to see someone excited about owning silkies! Hope you were able to get some good out of the whole thing. Good luck in your future with them, I think your GKids will love them, just do a bed check when they are around. Somehow silkies find their way in the house for sleepovers all the time!

Amazing how peoples perceptions vary...you were not attacked by any means...you posted a bad oc of the roo that made him appear splash...don't think anyone came across as a know-it all..the best part is you have still failed to answer the simple question; have u hatched from this pairing? If so what results did u get

Nobody attacked anyone .There were questions about the bird and it's color and background that was all.I am soo new to paints and have not bred any yet and I sure don't want to start off my breeding project on the wrong foot and have to start again from scratch because I added a paint with too much leakage into it by not knowing better.It isn't a matter of insulting the birds as he is very pretty in his own right,but from all I have been told and read you want as clean a bird as you can get so that you breed out the buff and off coloring.My understanding of the posts is :have you hatched from them yet and what was the result: Your answer was NO because you have eggs in the incubator and haven't seen the results of said breeding yet.There is certainly no reason to take the posts and turn them into something they are not.Bob and April were is asking questions that should be answered if for no other reason then for the buyer's peace of mind.
