PAINT SILKIES!?!?!

crele silky ?

Close to it. He doesn't have the wing patch, so is the wrong e-allele. Crele breeders, like ameraucana breeders are very picky

I have a cuckoo male he has mottled skin. I'm crossing him with good blacks to darken the skin up, he is now in his own pen with ladies which I am adding to tonight by picking up a cuckoo hen for him

This should be a good auction to watch. Didn't take long for the 1st bid to come in!

I'm am going to have to fight to stay off eggbid. Hmmmmmmm....... Guess, I better get my Silkie loving husband to look at this Auction!

We also talked to Sigrid and Hans about the Cuckoo. They stated that everyone is pretty much wasting their time trying to breed out the red combs. Because of the genetics involved in the Cuckoo, the red strawberry comb will NEVER go away. Dont ask me why, I haven't a clue, they just said that it wasn't possible.
.

I worked on the cuckoo Silkie for a while as did 2 of my friends and 2 of the 3 of us gave up due to the fact we could not get the combs right. No matter what we did, they are dark red at best, never right.
