A week ago I switched my 1 yo BA and 20 week BR to grower feed to accommodate some newly introduced pullets. In this week, the BR who had been newly laying regularly has stopped completely, the BA lays as usual, and all hens and pullets combs have gone pale. I have been offering oyster but they don't seem to be eating it. Could all of this be due to the feed change? Or is it possibly from the heat? The timing is highly coincidental with the feed change.

If it is the feed, the pullets are now 17+ weeks and had been starting to redden before the feed switch. Should I go back to straight layer feed for everyone? they are all housed together, mostly in a run but some range time each day. Any help is appreciated! I miss my eggs!

It could be due to the feed change and the heat could also play a part here. Switch them back to layer feed and see if that helps? The younger pullets are old enough to eat layer feed now as well.
