Panda & Pal in The New Brooder Today

I remember that! I have two standard Brahmas, typical hatchery types, but sweet girls anyway. Also, have one pullet who is a cross between my big Blue Orp roo and my Buff Brahma girl. She's a beauty, black, more Orp-like than Brahma, except for the feathered yellow legs.

Ah, very nice. I do enjoy the feather-legged types. And it's so nice for a change to look at a completely different kind of bird. I scrutinize my Delawares so hard, the poor things have complexes. The banties are just always glad to see me.

You've got a nice variety though. Still breeding mostly Barred Rocks and Blue Orps, though, right?

Well, yes, except that I lost my main BR rooster and his son is injured, so may not be an alternative for head of this mottley crew. I have two of Hawkeye's sons coming along, one five weeks old and one two weeks old, so it will be awhile before I have any fertile pure BR eggs.

Oops, sorry, I forgot about those roos momentarily and was thinking in abstract terms. I didn't mean to be insensitive.

Well, I'm off to try to get a few decent shots of some of my birds in the evening light. If I get anything good, I may shoot it your way.

Good grief! My DH would have me locked up in a strait jacket by March.

The temptation would be too much for me. They're just like potato chips at a picnic, you can't just have one you've got to go back for more and more.
