Thank you for helping me in the middle of your night. You know...this little trickster is still doing the mouth thing that scared me.
Do you see any yolk hanging from him? If so he will need to absorb that. My one that was born had a large yolk sac attached to it and I just had it on a clean paper towel and within an hour it was all absorbed. Good luck with this little one. Make sure the other one is away from it so it doesn't step on it or break any yolk sac if there should be one.

I had one once that was born all gooey because my humidity must of been too high. I took it into the bathroom and actually washed all of the goo off very gently and put it in the brooder under the light to dry. It is my biggest duck as it is a Mule duck and is perfectly fine. They tell you to never do this and I am not telling you to but sometimes we have to do what we have to do and things turn out fine. I pray that your two little ones do well.

Thank you for sharing your story . Isnt new life amazing and terrifying? They do seem to be doing well. The first born found the water and had her first sip. This last one is moving around and fluffing up. He is still attached to egg by string but it looks empty. I won't disturb him just in case. He is still in the incubator.

The shell looks empty but I did remove the sibling just before major assistance just in case. Thank you. :) everyone has been so kind.

Hey, just woke up. Good job 2nd baby!!! And good job to you! :clap

Let them break the cord themselves if they’re still attached.

For stuck membrane, warm water is great, yes. I had 1 baby with a small piece stuck to his back, but I was able to gently remove it with water after a few hours.
