Hello,
I have a flock of 6 buff orpington hens that are 5 weeks old. They are on week 2 of their outside life in their new coop and run. Today was the first day that the temp got into the 90s in Louisiana. The coop and run are half shaded by a roof and the other half trees. They have water available outside and inside. They are free to roam. I have 1 chick that is panting and the others aren't. She's drinking, eating, walking, and chasing bugs fine. She forages with the others fine as well. Not sure if she's too hot or if it's something else? I also added a mister this afternoon after I noticed her panting. Today has been the first day the panting started.
