Papaya

I've been thinking about planting papaya trees in my home. But i dont have enough information about it. If anyone has any information regarding papaya trees, please do reply. When should i plant, what are soil requirements, water requirements, and when does it fruit, at what age, which season, etc.

Are you talking about central American papaya or North America pawpaw?
Where are you located? Hardiness zone?

I am told they have male and female plants, you might need at least 2 if you want fruits. I have never grown them intentionally but I have had seeds sprout up like weeds in cracks of sidewalks and other odd places when I lived in the Tropics. I found a video about growing them indoors. I have not watched it yet.
