The reason that the spice trade was so hot wasn't because it made food taste better. It was for medicinal reasons. What will kill internal parasites and be safe for chickens? Ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, black walnut, hot pepper, garlic, oregano, clove, papaya seeds, Pau d' Arco.

I would only use one at a time because a sudden parasite die off can cause stomach upset and diarrhea.
