Parakeet shows? Anywhere?

That's GREAT advice! Thank you! I will think about it but I don't live in Texas yet I want to know what it's like

No problem!

Texas is such a large state, your experience with the community, weather, cost of living, etc... varies greatly upon the city where you end up living. Here in Houston, it's hot and humid a solid 8 months out of the year, the traffic is horrible, and we live close enough to the coast that we have to worry about possible evacuation during hurricane season. I've travelled all over the state, though, and I feel like there's a climate and community for just about anyone. Country living, suburban living, city living... hurricanes, hot summers, humidity, lands as dry as a desert, and even areas that get snow during the winter. c:

California is another great place to live, though slightly more expensive in some areas (from my understanding.) Cali also has a larger amount of bird shows and events for parrot lovers than any other state I've looked into, is home to one of the most amazing bird specialty stores, and even has a couple native species of hookbills! If I ever move out of state, I'll be heading for Cali— but that's just my personal opinion.
