I'm posting here again (finally).
The rats ended up taking all the eggs and when we got more bone of the chickens were broody. I did get an 32 chicken egg incubator though, unfortunately the 22 quail eggs are now unviable and the male quail hasn't been with the female. The female did go broody and sit on her eggs and one hatched! As far as I know they are doing quite well. The chickens are alright, it's really hot here but they've been dealing with it.

The family member I was talking about earlier in this thread has a very violent female quail, she nearly killed the male. Afterward she went broody and hatched one baby. We visited him today to help catch the baby finches, and we discovered that the mum mangled the baby's right leg! (she was dragging him by his foot) We took him home and hope he heals. He's 6 days old. We are also looking after the finches while he's away.

We were thinking of calling him Leslie (because we dont know if he's a boy or a girl).
