I have 10 chicks that are about 3 weeks old. I was wondering since I got these in a straight run how can I tell the males from the females

At this age, you might not be able. to.

By 6-8 weeks, the males will have larger, redder combs and thicker legs.

With Partridge birds, you'll also be able to tell as the feathers grow in on the breast. Lighter brown/salmon on the breast is female. Black on the breast is male.

I finally ordered some partridge Rock chicks this year--I've wanted them for a while now. Talk about eye candy!!

Yep, watch the chest feathers coming in. The males often show black splotch there before you can tell by comb growth.

I would love to see the pictures if you took them. I have 35 straight run Patridge Rocks they are 3 weeks old. Does size indicate sex at all? About 1/3 of my flock are chunky chicks! The others are very healthy but these few weigh almost 2x as much. Thanks :)
