Sort of looks like a PR to me...

I read that they lay brown eggs, as I had wanted all brown egg layers. Here's one of my PR chicks, not even a week old yet!

Broody advice please!
Louise, my one and only partridge rock layed her first egg at 21 weeks. Layed solidly for almost exactly a month before she went broody. Sigh. Set her up in a wire bottom cage, worked like charm, not quite a week later and she was over her broodiness. Now it's been a month and a half, and she's broody AGAIN!!!

So what I'm hoping to find out is, how likely is she to be a chronic broody? Would it help to let her hatch a couple eggs? To like get it out of her system? Or should I just keep putting her into the broody sin bin?

I wouldn't mind having her hatch some chicks, but I would prefer to do it in the the spring. I live in Montana and our winters can be really ridiculous. They would probably end up in my basement if we hatched now, and I'm not in love with the idea! But I also feel bad putting her in a wire cage by herself when it's cold....so I guess I'm looking for pros and cons?

Thanks in advance!
