Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

I didn't know that was possible. I know now once you pay pal someone money, you can't take it back that easily or at all. It's really safe and secure. It's all I use..

all u have do cancel payment on ur paypal

no its not that easy. I thought so too before I got one, I set one up this year and had to cancel a payment and its a big to-do to get your money back from a transaction, especially if theres delivery info and such with a package. I request delivery comfirmation on everything I buy or sell living or not living (haven't done any chickens yet - but still ) as the buyer your screwed if you make it a "gift" payment instead of a "payment for business/goods". if you do it through business payments on paypal accounts it takes a week to be processed with Paypal and both sides to get money back, UNLESS seller hits "issue refund" when a case pops up, (when someone tries to cancel their transaction) its easy to screw YOURSELF over then.

i dont know if judges realy know what correct

And I would have to agree with that, from what I have seen occasionally from the judging at some of the shows. I think many place type over proper color.

Type will ALWAYS place over colour if they are judging according to the standard. (Assuming there are no colour DQs.)

The process and testing to become a licensed judge is VERY, VERY difficult. Can you list the proper weights for all breeds? Know the differences in type between sultans, houdans, polish and silkies? Know the difference in type between plymouth rocks and dominques? Know the recognised varieties for Rhode Islands? Know the recognised varieties for largefowl Old English? Etc.

This is not to say that judges never make mistakes, or that some judges are not better/more knowledgeable than others. But I would never make a blanket statement that judges don't know what is correct. There are a number of judges that do, or have, bred and exhibited silkies.

Now, I have found the exact opposite. I have 2 partridge pullets that are very nice type, but people have been going crazy over them being "best to standard" pullets that they have ever seen. They both have the rich chestnut colored crest. Not too dark. They have won Res.Ch.FL at the only 2 shows that they have been entered. The last show there were a lot of black & white silkies that I think were more finished than my kids, but for some reason people have been making this huge fuss over these 2 ladies. And I don't mean just a little fuss, I mean a huge fuss. It has caused me to lose a friend over it, for which I am very sad.

I disagree and have mini-arguements with friends all the time, my best friends we have such differences in opinions, a few sour words, a couple hurt feelings here and there, yet after many years we're still friends
