lavender dose not efect black lavender is a black bird with 2 lavender genes
so these birds are blue partrdge and if u read the post she breed them therooster carries the partrdge gene

I was commenting on my birds/lines, not the posters. This is an observation of what I have found in some of my birds. I have genetic "experts" on here, tell me that you only get Splash from a SplashX Splash breeding. But what they don't tell everyone, that the gens behind the birds can and will effect the outcome. I had a pair of Splashes that when bred together, 50% were white at hatch. The key here, was the birds were related, there for allowing the white to come through at hatch. Also in some of my birds that have the lavender gene in their background, when bred together will produce a blue, that appears partridge at hatch.

So can a lav/split be blue partridge? I believe I was told that by the breeder....

That's very interesting... Thanks so much for the info.. By the way, your birds are very very pretty and very nice type!!!

I do not, nor will I ever understand the genetic code stuff. Break it down into enlish like April did and that I can understand. Examples. Real life examples. Now if only someone could explain my crowing pullet... Even though she hasn't crowed since I had separate her the first time.... Maybe just a teenager thing... Trying to figure out who they are... LOL

That he fills in some more. I was watching him today and I do really like him. So, I went and dug out Tater's Pic's at that age and it was the same for him. SOooo, I guess I will give him 3 more months and if that crest isn't where I want it you all can tell me where to ship em
