Ok, I am so confused!
I have a chick that I bought (the one in my avatar, Peepers) because I thought it was a partridge. this chick did not have one chipmunk stripe on it at all, and its wings and rear end were greyish. I bought it at 2 days old.
Its overall coloring has stayed the pretty much the same, but it has what you called peppering on its wings. could this be a Hen?And what color partridge would it be considered, with the brown and grey parts? If it is typical for a part hen to have the peppering, would a roo NOT have that pattern?![]()
What would be the possible color outcome if it was a hen and put in with a black roo?
Dang, I knew I should have gotten the other one that lady had.....![]()
These pics are almost 2 weeks old now, and the chick is about 10 weeks.
Thanks in advance....I am hoping for a hen![]()
Yes, certainly a partridge, even a Blue partridge, I can't see a eyeline and this is not really peppering but more stripes on the wingfeathers, it have also a Columbian-like restrictor because no pattern on the chest. On these data I say it's a cockerel. To be sure take good detail photo of the comb from the front to can see if it's swollen yet and a profile photo of the beak to can see the curve.
