Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Pics
I would love to see them. As I was told earlier in this thread, the color is the last thing that they look at in the partridge. He's a gorgeous roo with a beautiful house (that's what I am told his body proportion is actually called). I don't think that anyone can fault him for that. He has it all except for the color. Anybody would love to grab him up.
by the way, your hens are really nice. I can't see any fault with them.

Michelle B. has some nice birds. That is where some of my foundation stock came from. Her George Mihalik birds. She does have some nice birds. She wanted to buy all of my birds but I'm not selling anything else until show time. I want everyone to grow out some more.

Thank you! I like the silkies. We got them for my son who is 4. He loves them. They are so good with him. He carries them around everywhere.

I bought Lavender Silkie eggs from fowlrus and only had 1 hatch and it was this odd thing?!?! I had posted pictures when he was younger asking if it was a Lav or Partridge because of the "chipmunk stripes". He hatched on 12-7-10 so he's going on 8 months old. I believe he is a cockerel but haven't heard him crow and his comb isn't very big either...could be a pullet I guess.

ANYWAYS......I was looking at pics of Partridge and he/she don't seem like one??? What do you guys think because I don't raise Partridge Silkies. When I contacted fowlrus, she said that her husband collected the eggs for awhile there and she's not sure what this was????

All these pics are of the same bird. 1st is about a week old, 2nd is a month or two (can't remember exactly) and the 3rd is recent.

Thanks everyone!

Jamie!!! How are you?? How is that new baby doing??
First pic I would say for sure partri, second one I would have guessed gray something lol... and third
I think that is calico sorta???

browneye~~~just speaking from my experience.....I'm definitely NOT a genetics person.....but you hatched what looks like a "silver penciled partridge, a.k.a. gray" with some red leakage. They're a pretty common result of Lavender over Black/Lavender split---though I don't know why...

Hey Jen!!! Doin good

Baby is doin real well also. She's 3 months old already! How are you doing? I'm a little confused at to what this is and so is the seller that I got the eggs from. I wanted to sell him/her because I don't know what it is and I don't want to mix another color in my pens. I was also kinda thinking calico but not sure how that color is created? I'm going to have to ask "fowlrus" what color Silkies she has because, like I said, I was supposed to get pure Lav eggs?

Anyways, heres a pic of the new baby girl! This was Memorial Day at a picnic...it was sooooo HOT!!!

So this "could" be a Lav Black split then? If I had room to seperate him/her with a Lav or a Lav/Black split then I could probably tell for sure if he/she is a Split from the chicks that hatch. I just don't have anywhere to seperate them? Hmmmmm.......

Should not get that colouring from a black bred to a lavender. Obviously, either it is not from a black X lavender, or a lot of genes were hidden and came out in the wash. I would definitely not use the bird for lavender breeding. Bat Cave gives a good description of what the colour is. The red is very difficult to breed out, so my suggestion is to put him on yard duty eating bugs, not in the breeding pens.

Thanks Sonoran! So I'm just going to sell him/her because I don't have anywhere to put him without mixing colors. When I sell him should I say hes a "Silver Penciled Partridge"?

Thanks everyone
