That chick has a cool head decorations, closer to the real Partridge "helmet" than the Wildtype chipmunks we usually see being called Partridge in Silkies. You will let us know how it turns out?

You have some really pretty girls there too. I need more Partridge girls! Goggles is a boy, drat! But a very handsome boy so I am keeping him!

Wow, your boy is getting really dark! Such pretty green tailfeathers!

Does anyone have any B/B/S hatching egg's.
There is a hatching egg section, and I'm pretty sure I have seen two or three breeders selling blue, black splash eggs there.

Thanks ChickNmamma! I really like his green feathers a lot, I would like to show him, but I am wondering if the black feathers would count against him (they are hard feathers)? He is maturing so nicely, one of my best boys IMO.

Sorry Goggles is a boy, but if he is a NICE boy that works out OK!

Quote: I don't know how many hard feathers is ok, do you have the SOP? Then you can count them and find out if it works. You might also want to check what the deduction is if he has "too many," if he is great in every other way it might only equal a point or two.

Yes. Goggles is a NICE boy, great marking all over him for partridge (black and red/brown) and had great foot feathering, stance and crest. It does work out ok - but now I need MORE Partridge girls!

Actually the "green" feathers are the hard feathers. They are black with the green beetle sheen. No, I don't have the SOP but I have excerpts. I will see if I can find that info in my notes.

OK I found this:

Stiffness in tail feathers -2

So, it isn't a DQ.
I know they are allowed a few "hard feathers", but I don't know how many. I don't know if that would count as "stiffness" or is there another section on "hard feathers" in silkies.

I don't see anything - just the thing about stiffness and the ones about tail not showing development, and absence of main tail where foreign color does not disqualify.

Is there a section on DQs? I don't have that.

Wow - bare middle toe is only one point. With all the fuss they make about foot feathering, you would think there were more points taken off for not having feathers on the middle toe. Well - its one point, that's it!
