Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Cool! That's what I was hoping the chick is! I have a long way to go for him/her to grow up though.

How old was your baby in those pictures? Yes, but they grow up so fast! It will be looking like a mini full grown silkie in a couple of weeks.

Have I posted this girl here? I know I get in the middle of posting then get distracted and forget what I was doing. I think she is showing some potential.

I just took those pictures this afternoon. Tomorrow she will be 7wks old. When she hatched I was reminded of a Grizzly bear. So if the chick is male it's name will be Grizzly, if female Gizzelle. There were 10 silky in that hatching. I sold 7, kept 3. The other two I kept is a black silky & a grey Showgirl.

Very pretty Partridge girl! She has the moorcap, but still has pretty patterning on her body. How old is she?

Yes, a solid black head. Caused by the gene Charcoal - probably added to keep Black Silkies really black, might be useful in Blues for the black head - but not in the Partridge color description. The head is supposed to be deep reddish bay - as is the whole rest of the bird pretty much. The description for Partridge only calls for deep reddish bay and black..
