Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Howdy,

I'm quite new to Bearded Partridge Silkies - they are truly wonderful birds.

I got my hen and cock from a local birder and my first clutch was successfully hatched - 10 out of 13 eggs.

My 2 Partridges gave me different colors - I think. If you could help with identifying what name goes with the colors that would be much appreciated.

Of the 10 chicks 2 are white and the other 8 are unknown (to me) - pictures below.

First want to say that this chick screams boy with that orange neck and big comb.

The others I'd wait a bit to see on their colors. Boys change a lot between this age and adult feathers. There is a bit of a color range on the partridge.

The white chicks means that both of your birds carry one copy of the gene for recessive white. It only shows up if there are two copies present.

I got a couple hen comb pictures in the light today. 3 year old and 6 year old hens

This boy should turn nice and dark like his father as an adult. Don't let the light belly and neck fool you like it did me on his father. It's very different from the other bloodline I have, but it does make telling the boys from the girls easier when young

It's hard to believe how beautiful these little dinosaurs become! I look forward to your photos and fancychooklady's photos - you guys have a knack for capturing the best poses!

Education time! Normal wing versus split wing (missing or underdeveloped axial feather). I took pictures because I was talking to someone about it.

First a normal wing.
