Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Yes that is the one with the lavender.

That chick is the hen in the back. She's slightly darker than the older one. They are sun bleached in this. New head feathers have more grey.

Oh wow! I’m not sure how I imagined she would turn out, but it wasn't like that; I love how her head is such a contrast to her body when it’s not bleached 😍. Is she what is considered porcelain?

I’ll have to get some more pictures of the other partridge chicks tomorrow in decent light, to see what everyone’s opinions on their colours are... I’m curious about them too now knowing the stock they came from is likely carrying colour.

I do have my suspect on where the lavender gene was hidden. It didn't show up until several generations in and the suspect is related to most of my birds now so any could carry a copy.

It's not porcelain even though it looks similar. Porcelain is buff based.

I just think they are cute girls. I have to trim their rooster's bum as fertility isn't there on the eggs. I want to hatch some from them.

Here’s are the other partridges from the same hatch.

#1 is the one that looks like Hinotori’s double lavender. #2 is even lighter, but does have very faint partridge stripes (as seen below).

#3 & #4 look somewhat similar (when #4 isn’t a blur zooming around the brooder lol), but #4’s stripe colour blends in more with the rest of it’s down. The yellow faces on these two are making me think mum was a possible cross, and has Polish or Sliver Laced something (first thought was Orpington) somewhere hiding in her makeup. But everyone does have all their toes, decent foot feathering, and black skin.

#5 looks the most like a typical partridge Silkie to me, but compared to the lonely blue (carrier) partridge Brahma I have in with them, the one that is crossed out, everyone else looks different ... Blue? Silver? I don’t know. The Brahma are the only partridges I currently have and am familiar with, so the partridge Silkies are a new one for me; colour me intrigued.

What are everyones thoughts?

Update: Wing feathers are starting to come in now...

#1 has a light peach colour on the tips, and a very light blue/lavender on the rest, so definitely blue cream/porcelain :celebrate
#2 has mostly very pale blue, with a couple random spots of dark blue, so it’s looking to be a splash.
#3 has white on the tips, and black or very dark blue above that. I’m hoping it’s a grey/silver partridge :fl, but if not, then it’ll probably be blue partridge.
#4 has white/cream on the tips, and blue above, so it’s looking to be blue partridge.
And #5 has cream/peachy brown tips, and I can’t tell if the rest of the feather is brown or dark blue yet. Time will tell.

I can’t get over all the different colours they are, considering they all came from the same hen & rooster. Genetics are fascinating.
