Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Pretty sure I’ve ended up with a lovely partridge pair :celebrate

Which is your favourite of the two?

This 15 week old pullet is out of a dark partridge pullet and either black or white cockerel. Would you call her silver partridge?View attachment 2025549

I would say silver partridge yes 🙂 hard to see the crest colour properly but if it’s all black then Moorhead silver partridge! Lovely colour!

I like the 2nd one but Im a newbie to this. They are both lovely

Well you may be a newbie to it but the second one (the Male) has the better coloured crest! He’s got so much fire, I am getting tempted to keep him depending on how his comb and waffles form!

Old picture. There are 2 white ones here with no markings. The ones with light chipmunk are partridge but the result of me crossing two lines and second generation. They feather in normal partridge. The light greyish one is partridge with 2 copies of lavender. View attachment 2023524

I'm setting up breeding pens right now so no chicks at moment.

Is the second chick up from the bottom left the greyish with the double lavender you’re referring to?

I hatched 8 silkies eggs that were part of a trade (out of a paint rooster, 2 paint hens, and a partridge hen) and I ended up with 3 paints, but also a very light grey (possibly white), 2 partridge (that I’m not sure are silver or not - compared to my partridge brahma chick they are lol), a very faintly marked partridge that mostly looks blue unless you look closely, and one that is almost twin to that light one of yours! I’ve never seen one that light before. I wasn’t going to keep anything but the paints before they hatched, but now I’m thinking I may need to keep the others around for awhile too 😂

Do you have pictures of what that one of yours feathered out like?

(poor photo; this was right out of the brooder. Her dorsal stripe isn’t this red in person, and it’s a lot easier to see the white stripes parallel to it now)

Yes that is the one with the lavender.

That chick is the hen in the back. She's slightly darker than the older one. They are sun bleached in this. New head feathers have more grey.
