Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Pics
Yes, ok, wishful thinking on the early sexing on my part!

flgardengirl , I knew I'd see you in one of these Silkie threads one of these days! I'm surprised to see how many Marans folks also have Silkies. Half of this hatch, 7, were Partridges, can't wait to see how they feather out. They are so stinkin' cute!

Haha hey Debbi !! Yep I love my silkies almost as much as my Marans

. The silkies are so much easier to handle because they are little, especially the naughtier roos..give me naughty silkie roos over the naughty Blue Copper Marans roos anyday LOL!
I have 4 partridge girls, 1 splash girl, 1 buff girl. One splash male (thinks he's evil), 1 dark blue male, 1 white male. I had a lav girl but she was the one who got a bad head injury somehow and did not recover and kept going downhill bad so dh had to cull her. Broke my heart...she was a real sweetie!! My dark blue male had a head injury (I think from one of the other roos pecking him) when he was little, but he fully recovered..weird!

Pennie: I would love to see the pics of yours when they were younger. That will be a good learning tool!

It's those both feet, in your face roos that keep me nervous!

I carry my leaf rake with me when Pip and BB are out of the run. It also comes in handy for breaking up any fights. They get so focused on each other through the tines of the rake, that I can just back them up to the run and seperate them! It's like they are attached to it!

Here's a young little pullet. You can really see the coloring and pencilling on the wings.

pennie1 Pretty birds! Love that cockerel. I think I'll mark a couple of mine just to see if there is anything to the differences in the wing feathers. I'm hoping the ones showing the penciling on their wings now are pullets; there are more of them!

Pennie ~ Here is a pic of one of the suspected pullet? wings. For some reason, my camera won't pick up the darker coloration of the other's wing. The suspected male wing has only dark brown and black feathering.
