Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Hello- sorry if this is a double post- but I don't think I got it on here the first try. About 2 months ago, I posted pics of a couple of chicks that might have been Blue Partridge. They were born chipmunk patterned. They are out of a white roo, and a blue splash hen. When I posted it- someone said that my "blue partridge" chicks were probably blue. I'm thinking they are blue partridge. I know that getting a chance blue partridge won't give me a perfect pattern, but how are they? Does anyone have a pic of a perfect example of a BP hen and roo? I can search for that, I suppose. It won't hurt my feelings if they are bad examples (well, maybe a little disappointed :) ) The male is gangly and not photogenic. He IS however, very testosterony! He crowed the first time today in a Barry White voice- and has a big comb, compared to any of my others at that age! Thanks!

No, the stiff feather are hard, regardless of whether they are silkied or not. Ideally you want soft (ha+/ha+) AND silkied (h/h)

So, the black green feathers in my boys tail are not stiff or hard feathers, just not silkied? I thought when everyone talks about hard feathers that is what they were referring to (feathers that aren't silkied)? A lady I talk with occasionally speaks of "dead" feathers. Is this the same thing?

Tuuuut tuuuuuutttt Yeeees!!! Another partridge. After a nightmare hatch (2out of 11) it is a good news. If it is not bp it will be ok too. I'm sure he will be wounderfull.

Is this chick partidge?

Does your chick has stripes? Is he yellow? Because on my pix I also have a yellow chick but he is not uniforme. Don't know if in silkie the white are uniforme yellow chicks or have shades...mine has grey-white on the belly and kind of dirty yellow on the back. Could this be a partridge also?

Great! Thanks! I raise blue, too. None of mine looked like that! It did seem that I saw a photo cover on one of the Silkie books. Maybe of the Nationals or something last year? The cover photo was of the champion- It stated that it was blue, but it looks like it had brown on it. hmmmm. Not saying it wasn't a beautiful Silkie! She sure was! Was just curious back then.

No. MANY people incorrectly say "hard" when they mean "not-silkied"; that was the point I was trying to get across. Not quite sure what she means by dead feathers--could be ones that no longer are growing, or could mean old feathers that are ready to molt. Or maybe something else. I would need to context to understand.

Green sheen is a reflective property, and it does show up more in non-silkied feathers, but you can sometimes still see it in very silkied ones.
